If you thought Grand Seiko would soon run out of nature-inspired elements to design their watches on, think again. For their latest round of watches, they have looked to the majestic landscape of Japan once again to design two new limited-edition pieces exclusively for the fans in our region.
SBGH287 Snow on the Blue Lake
This elegant watch is built with a Heritage collection case, but the dial was inspired by Hachimandai, in Iwate prefecture. Famed for its beautiful winter scenery, the SBGH287 comes with a light blue dial that captures the intense azure sky that lowers on the glittering snow of the Hachimandai.
Snow on the Blue Lake was created as an exclusive limited edition for Thong Sia, Grand Seiko’s sole distributor in the region. This means you will only be able to find this piece in Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore. And adding even more to its rarity, the watch will be limited to 140 pieces in total.
Hi-Beat 36000 Asia Limited Edition 2021
For those looking for something more sporty, we have the SBGJ253. The colour scheme for this piece is dark with a slight tinge of gold, inspired by the ’Tasogare’ or twilight sky in Shizukuishi. Adding to its sophistication is the radial Mt. Iwate pattern on its dial.
This collection was designed as a modern reinterpretation of the 44GS style established in 1967 and offers a high-beat movement with a GMT function. Although not a limited edition, the watch will only be sold in Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East.
