There’s a reason why Longines often puts itself in the category of affordable luxury. Don’t have enough dough for a Rolex Submariner or an Omega Seamaster? Just do a quick Google search and the Longines HydroConquest would most often come up in a list of reasonably affordable alternatives. And with green being the latest colour for the HydroConquest, fans of the Rolex ‘Hulk’ that can’t seem to get their hands on that particular dive watch, may just turn to Longines for an answer.
Just like the other watches in the HydroConquest collection, this new option comes in either a 41mm or 43mm case in stainless steel and offers a ceramic bezel insert as well. The standard HydroConquest Green will feature a smooth dial, in a shade of green that matches the bezel but for those who want a little more punch, Longines also has a boutique edition of the HydroConquest green that comes with a brushed ceramic dial. Additionally, the boutique edition will also be fitted with the Caliber L888.5 movement that offers a silicon balance spring as opposed to the normal metal one of the Caliber L888.3 that is found in the non-boutique edition. But for this, you will be paying about MYR 3,000 more.
All variants of the watch will be available in either a rubber strap that hugs the case at the lugs or a stainless steel bracelet with double security folding clasp and integrated diving extension. The Longines HydroConquest in green will retail at MYR 6,120 and MYR 9,200 for the non-boutique and boutique versions respectively.
