Fresh out of Baselworld 2019: Rolex GMT-Master II 126710 BLNR “Batman”

Batman Returns…

2019 is the year…Batman Returns (pun definitely intended). After the discontinuation of the reference 116710 BLNR late last year, It was rumoured, then teased, then leaked and now it is finally launched – the brand new Rolex GMT-Master II 126710 BLNR a.k.a. “Batman”.

It looks like Rolex has decided to give their ‘Batman’ the very same treatment they gave the “Pepsi” in 2018. Basically, its the same GMT-Master II watch, only with the blue and black ceramics instead of the red and blue. This means, the 126710 BLNR has the same 40mm Oystersteel case fitted with a Jubilee bracelet and is powered by the same calibre 3285 movement introduced last year specifically for the GMT-Master II.

Even on the bi-directional bezel, a dual coloured Cerachrom insert is used, but this time with blue and black ceramics. One of the nifty little details about this bezel is that the numerals used to denote the 24 hours for the GMT function are actually coated with platinum via a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) process. And adding on to the elegance of this watch, the indices on the dial are made from white gold.

As with all Rolex watches, the GMT-Master II 126710 BLNR also comes with the in-house Superlative Chronometer certification meaning it is accurate to +2/-2 seconds daily.
