Bell & Ross BR 05 Chrono Adds Another Square Into The Circle Within The Square

Oh, and did we mention a chronograph complication too?

Ever since the launch of the very first BR 01, Bell & Ross has been known for being the brand that puts a round in a square. More precisely a round dial in a square case. And with the launch of the BR 05 collection in 2019, they softened down that square but still kept this recognisable trait. Fast forward to 2020, and you might have guessed what comes next. After a limited edition run of skeleton versions, Bell & Ross has now added a chronograph complication to their BR 05 collection and with that, two new squares in the form of the chronograph counters.

For the new BR 05 Chrono, Bell & Ross have taken everything that people liked about this collection and “one-upped” it. You like the shape of the case; it is now bigger at 42mm in diameter. You like how the light plays off its satin and polished surfaces; they have added two integrated chronograph pushers that give the watch more facets for the light to be reflected off. You like its sporty look; the BR 05 Chrono is even sportier thanks to the addition of the chronograph function and its counters.

The watch is powered by the calibre BR-CAL.301 automatic chronograph movement which is the same calibre found in their BR V2 and V3 chronograph watches. As with other BR 05 models, the watch will also be paired with the very cool integrated steel bracelet or a rubber strap with the same end links.

Perhaps, what makes the watch instantly desirable is that for all the upgrades you get, the price is only about MYR 6,000 higher than the standard date-only BR 05. Which is to say, the BR 05 Chrono is priced at MYR 28,500 on a bracelet compared with the MYR 22,200 of the base model. And, if you can forgo the bracelet (which I don’t recommend) the price drops to MYR 26,000.

For more information, or to make a purchase, Bell & Ross has a wonderful microsite set up for the BR 05 Chrono and they have an e-commerce platform set up as well.
